The condition of this oil painted Retablo has a story of its own. Measuring approximately, 14” x 10” it is believed that this work of art on tin started its journey in Spain ( possibly Mexico ) .

The uniqueness of this painting comes from the depiction of Saint Joseph. Joseph is usually depicted with a halo , and with white lilies depicting his purity.

The staff, pictured with the faint images of red flowers, represents the “blood of life“. His crown , in place of a halo is said to have been the crown of King David which conferred his faith, to his adopted son.
