An OVERSIZED ( 16 inch tall ) antique, Spanish Santos , that has been carved in the image Our Blessed Mother, Virgin Mary , caressing her son, Baby Jesus . The polychrome along with the wonderful patina are only rich characteristics that are indicative of a true antique ( over 100 years old) . This beautiful religious sculpture, Catholic figurine , showcases Madonna while standing on the images of 3 Puntis as she is embracing Baby Jesus.
The cherubs, angels, depicts the coronation of Mary, which occurs after her assumption. Angels are intermediaries between heaven and earth, so they are what God used to carry Mary from earth to heaven.
