13" x 4.5" x 3.5". Antique polychrome Spanish colonial wooden statue figure of most likely Saint Francis Xavier. Depicts a monk figure with shaved head and clergy robes painted in maroon and guilt, with a cross around the neck, standing on a blue hemisphere with stars painted around the circumference. Likely 19th century. Evidence of its age can be found through the following : excess lost of gesso, paint, includes fading, chipping, and discoloration to the paint as well as a missing right hand and a crack to the back of the base.
